We strive to provide a stimulating and comprehensive training experience that will enable clinical trainees to contribute to improving oral health through teaching, research, and innovative clinical practice that is accessible to all. We are proud of the exceptional training programs we offer to our general practice and pediatric residents. At the Center for Family Dental Medicine, we offer an unparalleled opportunity for residents to learn from our committed faculty and perform a wide variety of procedures in all phases of modern dentistry, including preventive, restorative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, oral medicine, pediatrics and both the placement and restoration of implants. These experiences are designed to prepare our graduates to enter private practice or open the doors to further training, specialization, and research. Additionally, the Department is actively engaged in providing didactic and clinical teaching for the medical students at the Long Island School of Medicine with the goal of integrating oral health into primary care medical training.
Collectively, our dedicated staff, residents and faculty will continue the ascent of NYU Winthrop Hospital Department of Family Dental Medicine into one of the top dental programs in the nation. We believe deeply in our obligation to serve our community and we dedicate ourselves to fulfilling this mission through improved access to care, innovation and education.
