View Medical Education

Medical students applications to the Urology Residency Program at NYU Winthrop Hospital are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System which is overseen by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Medical students file applications electronically at their own medical schools. The materials listed below are required to complete your application file:

  • Common Application Form
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Part I (and Part II if available) Board Score(s)
  • Photo

The selection process is done through the American Urological Association (AUA) match system. Our deadline to receive completed applications is October 1, 2019. Completed applications are evaluated by the Chairman/Program Director, Associate Program Director and their appointed committee, consisting of Urology Faculty from NYU Winthrop Hospital. Qualified individuals will be invited to interview with our program. Each candidate will be interviewed by key faculty (consisting of two to three faculty members within each group), followed by an interview with the Chairman/Program Director. Candidates will get a tour of the NYU Winthrop campus, and our residents will be available to speak with and answer questions. Each candidate is ranked, and the names are submitted to the AUA match system. Upon completion of the match in January, the program and applicants are notified of the results and who will be joining our program.
