Orthopedic Oncology

The orthopedic oncologists at NYU Winthrop Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care evaluate, diagnose, and treat bone and soft tissue tumors. These masses can occur in children and adults, and many are benign and do not require treatment. Benign tumors may be observed after diagnosis which might include a biopsy. Malignant tumors may need one or more treatment methods including radiation, chemotherapy and surgery. The surgical management of tumors ranges from removing small or large amounts of tissue to a removal of malignant tumors and organs. Our advanced technology and expert training helps give our patients the advantage they need including custom-made implants when limb-sparing surgery is required.
