Trauma Visitation

Trauma Center Visitation Guidelines

Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)

SICU family rounds occur each day from 1 pm to 3 pm. The Trauma Team asks that a spokesperson or designated family representative be present during family rounds so they can be updated on their loved one’s condition and have an opportunity to directly ask questions. Members of the trauma team are available any time if you need to discuss an urgent matter.

Open visiting is welcome in the SICU. To provide a restful environment for patients, only two visitors are allowed at the bedside at a time. For the confidentiality of all of our patients, we ask that you do not visit during change of shift (7 am to 8 am and
7 pm to 8 pm).

Confidentiality is also a priority as we provide care. Please understand that to protect privacy, limited information will be given to friends and family members not designated by the patient as their spokesperson.

Trauma Surgical Units

Visitors are welcome at any time during the patient’s stay in the Hospital. However, to provide a restful and safe environment for our patients, we ask that you please observe the following:

  • Only two visitors at a time. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Exceptions will be determined by clinical staff.
  • At certain times, in order to perform certain procedures, the number of visitors may need to be limited, or visitors may be asked to temporarily leave a patient’s room, to better care for our patients and protect their privacy.
  • For the safety and security of everyone in the hospital, visiting a patient after 8 pm will require the visitor to check-in at the Security Desk in the Hospital’s Main Lobby.
  • Please keep in mind, our patients have the right to decide if they wish to have visitors and the right to designate who may visit them during their stay.
